Most of us fear "if I eat more I will become fat." Eating right will let you get rid of that fear. Eating right is about getting touch with your body and sharpening your awareness of it. This could help you to design a menu for yourself, keeping in mind the balance of nutrition and calorie that are suitable for you.
Know What You Eat
All of us know, what we love to eat. However, when we eat, we are so consumed with the taste and feel of it, we tend to forget that eating too much in a spree without thinking could be really bad. The first step to eating right is consciousness, knowing what you eat. Weight gain is the result of eating more calories than you burn. To achieve weight loss, you have to know your calories intake. Knowing your calories for lunch, dinner and whatever you eat will help you to achieve your goal because weight loss in any form comes down to simply burning more calories than you take in.
If you are not used to keeping track of your calories or food, now is the right time to practice. Maintain a diary for yourself and note your food intake in calories periodically.
Three things are important in being successful in weight reduction
- Monitoring the diet and recording it
- Setting a goal weight loss based on that knowledge
- Control of impulse to eat whatever and whenever
Knowing what you eat is the first step to do that.
